7th and 8th Grade Student Supply List

For the 2017-2018 school year in the 7-8 classroom, you will need the following supplies:

  • 2 grid-ruled composition books* (1 for math, 1 for science)

  • 3 lined composition books (1 for writing, 1 for vocabulary, 1 for social studies)

  • 1 2” binder

  • 8 tab dividers

  • Writing utensils

*Since implementing the math and writer’s notebook system using composition books, I have discovered that not all composition books are created equal, especially where the grid-ruled books are concerned. Some grid-ruled composition books have very dark, thick lines. This makes anything written in pencil very difficult to read. Please check before you purchase! I receive no kickbacks for saying this, but Staples really does provide the best quality and most affordable grid-ruled composition books. They are often available for as little as $1 each. I will have a limited number available for $1 each because I buy them when I happen to catch them on sale. I will also have a limited number of lined composition books available for $0.50.

Parents, please do your best to ensure that your child has all of their supplies at school on the first day. We will spend class time during the first days of school organizing and setting up these materials for use. They then become materials that we use every day, making catching up difficult.

Students, please do your best to ensure that you have all of your supplies in class on the first day and every day thereafter! We really do use them every day.
